The Butchers Arms in Balscote is a lovely little find. Hidden away in the North Oxfordshire Countryside, it has been a Hook Norton Pub since 1878 and still has the original Ice house in the garden as well as boasting a Grade II Listing

We have combined the old with the new, with our traditional Hook Norton Craft Ales being served straight from the cask, alongside our draught beers/lager/ & ciders, in a bright comfortable village atmosphere, we also offer monthly ales and guest beers.

Aunt Sally is a hugely popular pub game in the county of Oxfordshire and is a thriving sport that has spread to other areas of England in recent times. The idea is simply to knock the Aunt Sally doll cleanly off a swivel on the top of a post by throwing wooden sticks at it. It's an old game that is great fun, whether you're playing in a pub league or less seriously in a pub garden!
